The Future of Mobile Telephony

The Future of Mobile Telephony

Overviewing the current situation on the smartphone marketplace it becomes pretty difficult to ascertain what the future holds for this very lucrative and coveted industry. There are incredibly bright, small, big, sharp, fast, exquisite display screens, resolution is already beyond what human eye can perceive, there are already some smartphones with proper sound integrated, there is barely a niche where smartphone manufactures have not ventured into, including fitness and health. The latest move is made by providers who offer streaming services from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and similar that do not count towards the payment plan, i.e. they are not being charged extra, counting against or reducing customers’ data transfer limits. LTE 4G is getting established everywhere by now, coverage is expanding and already there is talk about the next generation, 5G, which will slowly be planned out and implemented, whereby the whole project should start becoming available by 2020. But what have the smartphone manufacturers envisioned as the future of smartphones, besides shinier displays, faster processors, more RAM and storage, batteries that last longer and similar improvements? Is there anything in terms of technology that can be presented to customers, which will make a difference, something new, exciting, innovative? Now in immediate future the trend seems to be not to pursue the technology advancements that much, but to hark to what the customers have to say. Nevertheless, although the HTC Valve will be a bestseller and really put HTC back on into the spotlight, HTC did not waste time on it at all, but brought the focus back on smartphones and the HTC future of smartphones as they envision it. The HTC One A9 is being touted by HTC as the ultimate consumer friendly smartphone, which does not come overloaded with bloatware or functions that are sounding good on paper, but useless. Text Messaging Shorthand

Text Messaging Shorthand

In the beginning there was a phone – a cell phone, now commonly known as the smartphone, the great deceiver. And it permitted only one hundred and sixty characters per one message. While people were awed with the performance of such an apparatus, many youngsters were not happy with the crude limitation to their freedom of expression. They worked hard to overcome the imposed limitations and break free from the imposed shackles. The solution was partially derived from the internet lingo and further perfections of the new language were close at hand. Many linguists have looked at the new creations and have given them names, like “textese”, “chatspeak” and “txt talk”, even the use of internet sourced material was prominently hummed at. If you were truly one of the anointed ones, you were probably using the definition “l33tsp34k”. The secrets of text messaging shorthand are still not discussed widely. It seems that some sort of a taboo is veiled over this phenomenon, nicknamed “devil’s talk” by older ladies, who were miffed about their acronym being used, LOL – little old ladies, as the short for laughing out loud. These small apparatuses that people are referring to as telephones, smartphones or in some really bold statement communication gadgets; are actually peculiar devices that never really ring when called, but expressed all kinds of noises, so such contraptions must be the work of the unholy one himself. None of the little old ladies approached such a gizmo without being properly protected by garlic and a crucifix. Some scientists were hired by international intelligence agencies to decipher the obviously coded messages, sometimes...
